About Us
Tenebra is brought to you by Ghostlight vzw.
Ghostlight is a nonprofit organization (vzw in Dutch) that focuses on producing, promoting and supporting international larp in Belgium. In time we hope to take on more projects but for now our first born is Tenebra and we are proud parents indeed.

The team of Tenebra consists of many people who are no strangers to larp, national and/or international. We all have one thing in common: our love for play and creating.
Meet the team
Lead Production / Head Department Visuals
Lesley Reynaert
With her experience as a professional costume / creature designer in the entertainment industry Lesley has an eye for detail and an urge to create. She has been active in the Live Action Role Playing scene for more than 26 years and has organized several projects. With Tenebra she wants to share the love that she has for all things dark and deformed, showing you the beauty that lies in what tries to stay hidden. As the founder of the non-profit organization Ghostlight she wants to create a platform to support other international LARP projects in Belgium, spreading information and learning from each other. Nurturing an uplifting community where everybody feels safe and validated.

Head Department Scenario & System
Stefan Bruynseels
Engineer by day, passionate storyteller/dungeon master and enthusiastic larper by night. With over 20 years of experience I consider myself a fervent follower of principles such as “co creation” and “being the number one fan of your players”. Within the Tenebra project I lead our fabulous writers of the scenario / game system department. My players characterize my writing style as “always pulling the heartstrings but balanced out with a healthy dose of humor”. My personal likes are True Detective (series), Call of Cthulhu (rpg), Hellboy (comics) and Monsterhearts (rpg).

Head Department Logistics
Arjan Ooms
23 years ago I started larping in Belgium and was sorry I didn’t find this hobby earlier in my life for it turned out to be somewhat life changing. So much so that when my son hit puberty and he had no place to larp in Belgium I founded and organized the very popular Roanoke LARP for him and other young larpers to play, securing a much needed new generation of larpers in Belgium. My strength lies in getting things done and knowing how to make something out of nothing, creativity and energy are my drive, always enthusiastic and always approachable. For Tenebra I carry the burden of organizing all things practical as well as getting involved with the safety of the event and just being an allround fixer people can count on. I hope to see you at one of our events!
Head Department IT & Administration
Sander Bestevaar
Sander has been larping internationally since... well, who's counting the years anyway? With his vast network of international friends and immense experience in designing larps he has taken up the role of IT and player admin for Tenebra. Which is a fancy way of saying, the spreadsheets and google forms are his handiwork.
If he's not larping, you can probably find Sander playing games like Minecraft, Valheim, or Deep Rock Galactic. Other than that he is on his way to become a Real Life Witcher, training in swordfighting and herbalism.

Head Department Health & Safety
Valerie Lever
“Trust me, I’m a psychologist.”
Combining her years in LARP with her education and experience as a licensed clinical psychologist, she’s helping to shape the safe and inclusive environment of the Tenebra project to give its players the best possible experience. She’s seen all aspects of the LARP space, as a player, an NPC, a writer, and a crewmember at various events. Not only will she be involved in the development of the project as a whole to keep the team mindful of safety and inclusivity, she will be available at the Tenebra runs as the person you can call on for out-game emotional or mental support.

Consult Ex Machina
Bruno Bombeke
Roleplaying is dear to me. Throughout my life, roleplay has broadened my horizons, helped me through rough times and given me valuable experiences. Most importantly, it has rewarded me with life-long friendships.
Because of medical issues I have some limitations and thus an intimate view on inclusivity in LARP. I’ve been larping as long as I can remember. I've been a player, an NPC, unpaid intern, junior writer, lead writer and project lead for various local LARP events over the years. In more recent years I’ve been enjoying the international LARP scene with giddy glee and I love to discuss LARP techniques and theory whenever possible.
For Tenebra, I act as a consultant and do quality control, with some mild editing on the side. I’ll take care of our social media and I’ll also help Wim and Lesley with technical support and prop making. My aim is to use my various experiences to help this incredible team bring their vision to life.

Scenario
Peter Loockx
By trade he is a dedicated historical researcher (Industrial archeology) who tries to weave some treats of history into his storytelling. For over thirty years, he has immersed himself in diverse gaming realms, from writing captivating steampunk scenarios for Larps to spine-tingling Lovecraftian tabletop storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the rich realms of Neil Gaiman or the magnificent plot twists of Alan Moore, and ignited by Dan Harmon's creative brilliance, Peter crafts narratives that transport players into immersive worlds. Preferring structured frameworks (Story Grids) to tell a well-built story, he constructs tales with engaging story arcs, and vividly developed characters where players emerge as true heroes or villains of their story.
Scenario & System
Joris Van Den Bergh
Scientist by trade and passionate about TTRPG's, board games, reading and traveling. While he has been dungeon mastering / storytelling since the age of 8, Joris is quite new to the world of LARP scenario writing. He has collaborated on writing one horror larp and is eager to further develop and apply his creative skills. His writing style is focused on encouraging player creativity and scenarios that give rise to meaningful player choices. Influences include Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Thomas Ligotti, Haruki Murakami, David Lynch and the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game.
All-round Contributor
Wim Peeters
I’m Wim and I've been LARPing for about 30 years and helping out in organizational teams for about 20. Tenebra is already the fifth larp team that has embraced me into their fold. I am usually the go-to guy for setting up networks at events – anything from PCs to full-on telephone systems but for Tenebra I also get to tinker and build unexpected stuff. By day, I maintain networks, and as a hobby, I tinker with home automation and help out at the local Repair Café. I also have 2 cute cats, I felt that that needed to be said.
Website
Marijke Van Hauwaert
Marijke has been larping and crewing at larps since 2016, both in Belgium and internationally. Other hobbies include dancing, archery, linguistics, TTRPGs like Ten Candles, Fiasco, and anything PbtA. There's always at least three more projects in her current hyperfocus, like learning Danish or writing too many fanfics.
She made this Tenebra website, somehow.
